Southwestern Illinois College Intercollegiate Sports

At Southwestern Illinois College, you could participate in the excitement of intercollegiate sports or the fun of intramural sports.

Intercollegiate sports at Southwestern includes three men's and four women's programs. Men compete in soccer, basketball and baseball; women compete in volleyball, basketball, softball and soccer. Men and women may participate in intercollegiate golf.

SWIC Athletic Director Jay Harrington who's been elected into two Basketball Hall of Fames and is coming off a great season a couple of years ago in the National Junior College Basketball Tournament has had another impressive recruiting year and look for them to be back in the hunt for a National title. It has. The Blue Storm is ranked 6th in the country in the lates tpoll 1/8/8.

Jay's squad is coming off a fantastic 34-4 season last year (2005-2006) which included an astounding 32 game win streak. Five players from that team earned Division 1 scholarships.

We are planning on broadcasting in "live" streaming audio this coming SWIC Men's basketball schedule which would also include a large schedule of SWIC Women's games. They often play back to back contests. Both teams have had outstanding recruiting years and the SWIC men could again be among the top ten rated junior college teams in the nation for 2008-2099. We will archive select games in "streaming video." Mike Juenger's womens' team could well bounce back to a top two in the country finish.
